After being overweight for 10+ years. I decided to make a change. I had the surgery August 16, 2006. I have currently lost 60 pounds. It has been several years since I have felt this good. Although I still have about 50 more pounds to go, the weight has litterally fallen off and I have found a new me. My insursance would not cover the surgery, so I made a gift to myself by taking the money out of my 401K. This has been the best decision of my life. I started a new job 6 weeks ago and bought a new wardrobe; I already need another one, I used to hate shopping now I love it. Thank you for helping me change my life.

I had a vertical stomach stapling in 1989 and a subsequent tummy tuck in 1990. The stapling procedure was to correct or re-do many previous tries at surgical procedures to control my weight. I must say that the procedure done by Dr. Fox has been a overwheming success. I currently wear sizes 2 up to 4's. Thank you Dr. Fox.

I had the band put on November 11, 2005. As of September 22, 2006 I am down 94.5 ibs. I have 20 more ibs to go to reach my goal weight! I would recommend this surgery to anyone!!

It has been over 1 year since I took the largest step in my life. I had the AGB surgery. I was one who never eat much but always seemed to gain weight. I weighed 100 pounds in the first grade and had hit my high of 215 at the age of 47. I hated my self. With no energy, little sleep, I hated going out of my house. Then I was given a break. Married to the most wonderful man, he happened to hear about the AGB on T.V. He called and found out about the surgery. Before I knew it I was under the knife and life has not been the same. I now weigh 151 pounds, 5' 9". Four other ladies have had the surgery since me at my work place. We all love the results. Words can not explain how wonder I look and feel. My co workers can't believe the new me. Life is the Best! A special thanks to my loving Husband Greg who believed in me and the terrific staff at SWLC. They are the best.

My sister had the lapband surgery last May and is looking really good. Now I am thinking of having it done. I am ten years older than her and probably weigh a lot more than she did when she started but I believe I can lose the weight. Years ago when I was probably only 30 lbs overweight, a close friend of mine asked me when we walked past a heavy set woman "You wont't ever get that big will you? and, of course, I said "no". Guess what, I did. I just realized that not to long ago and I want to change it around and soon for I don't want to have more health problems. So far, I only have high blood pressure, but I am starting to notice my joints are hurting and it is harder to get up and down stairs. I am hoping this fall (2006) that I can possibly find away to do the lapband procedure.

Had an open RNY is 2000 in Oregon. Gaining because of medication. Spoke to Dr. Fox Sen. a wonderful and understanding person I feel so much better after speaking with him and getting a stragy to help with weight gain. NOW - Blanche what a LADY, she is my role model, her information and help is wonderful. Dr. Fox and staff are excellent.

I am in the process of going for revisionary surgery with the clinic. I had a distill gastric bypass in 1996, went from 360 to 165 and stabilized at 175. I felt great. My weight started to creep after 5 years, and I'm now up to 280 at the age of 53. I'm scared about going thru the surgery again, but I know it's my only alternative - again. I have bad knees, and walking is excrutiating. I've loved reading the Guestbook comments from those of you who posted, and I know you wish me luck. Thank you for that.

Thanks to Dr. Fox for the wonderful life I now live. I had my surgery July 3, 2001, weighing 362# today, I hang around 194#. At 59 years young, I am able to serve as a sports official, running with high school boys and girls, doing 2 ballgames nightly. My only regret was that I did not have the surgery 20 years earlier. I encourage anyone fighting a lifetime of obesity to consider the surgical route to a new life. Ron K

The SWLC has given me my life back! I had a gastric bypass done on April 7th of 2005....and I feel great! I actually feel better and better each day. I am down nealy 100 lbs and still have about 65 to go...but, now I know that I will get there. No more sitting on the sidelines for me...I am going to be the one showing my own horse. Yahoo! This was the best decision I ever made for myself. The Dr.S. and his staff are just awesome!

I haven't visited the website in so long...amazing that I have become so accustomed to my body that I forget the old me. I am still fortunate to have been such a success. I feel so blessed. I lost my weight so fast after my 2nd surgery. I never had a tummy tuck and had a local pysician tell me it was not needed..I would love to have my breast done but feel like I should just be grateful and maybe oneday we'll see. I still am the biggest advocate of Dr. Fox's and have advised many of his patients who are now doing so well..I don't know how I have managed to do so well but have....especially since I was one of the first patients to become pregnant and deliver such a healthy baby...It is hard to believe she will be 10 years old in three days.. again Dr. Fox I love you from the bottom of my heart and hope that when you are faced with those few negative situations that scare you that you can reflect on the life that you gave me and sooo many other people...love Lizz Steele

I have just returned from a group discussion with the SWLC and I am pleased to say that this was the most informative seminar I have attended this year. I am impressed that they don't beat around the bush. We need to here the truth with no sugar coating. (no pun intended) I just want to thank you for taking the time to educate us and encourage us during our time of need. This is the first time I have been treated normal by a health care professional! I struggled with my weight most of my life, particularly after having children. I supported the diet industry in spades! It took me five years to decide to have the gastric bypass surgery to reduce my weight. Meanwhile my hips and knees hurt, my blood pressure was climbing, sugar level was increasing and poor health was knocking on my door. My surgery was August of 02 and I lost 170 pounds. I wore a tight size 26 and now a six or and eight. Life is easier and much more enjoyable! My weight will fluctuate about two or three pounds. I would do the surgery over again if I had to make that decision. I recommend anyone who is morbidly obese to study the gastric bypass surgeries or lap band. Research the doctors and their aftercare program. This is a lifestyle change that requires commitment to stay healthy. However, it has been much easier than I thought it would be for me since the rewards are much better than food ever was.

I was looking on line for some information on the lap band procedures and doctors in Western Washington. This is a very good site and I found your feedback very helpful. My insurance would never cover the surgery (I work for the state!!) and I don't think I could ever afford it, but it's nice to know that there are options out there, and hope!! Hi All! If your thinking of having a surgical proceedure to help you with your obesity, you've come to the right place! Dr. Fox and his staff are second to none! Dr. S, Kudo's to you my friend! Your kindness and guidence has made me a completely new man! I also have to send a shout out to the Gals in the office WOO HOO! " wink" It will be 2 years this November 12 2004 since I had the AGB proceedure done. I was 400 + pounds, a size 58/60 waist, 5/6 XL shirt size and downright misserable! Today as of this writing I am 203 pounds size 34 waist, and in xl-lg shirts! My health both physically and mentally have improved three times over! I love my "new" self and my " new" life! If you have suffered from the missery and the health problems of obesity, you owe it to yourself and your loved one's to let these people into your life! You won't regret it! my name is andrea diomede. i had the lap band on july 12th, 2004 and i am so excited to begin my new life. already, i am walking normal and i have MINIMAL pain, and that is exactly what i started out with. i am SO happy that i did this now, because i am 18 years old. i have asthma and i don't want to get all of those other problems that obesity tends to bring.on july 12, i was 315lbs and i am 5'3. if anyone has any questions, please email me. i would be happy to answer anything that i can. thank you.

Very informative site. I had a stapling procedure done in 1989 that has failed. I am interested in the bpd/ds procedure. I will contact you when I have finacing in place. I have insurance through my employer, but it is Kaiser and they will not pay for out-of-network care. I am not a candidate for their surgery as I do not have 2 Uncontrollable comorbidities. It's been seven years now since I've gone from 325lbs to 140! Sometimes I and others have felt becoming too thin could be a problem, but I feel great and owe it to Ross and a wonderful staff. Dr. S was an excellent addition a few years ago and helped with my tuck, he is a great guy. Ross was very candid with me when I challanged him regarding long past legal claims some folks lay on others. In his business, as in mine, these things happen and Ross dealt with me head-on. My decision was to trust Ross and thank God I did. Yes, problems did happen absolutely no fault of his and he got me thru them. People tend to focus on post-op side effects with their questions of me and I tell them those issues are rarely anything close to problems associated with being large. Ross knows his stuff. In my orientation session he held my little finger and predicted a 33" waist(from a 52!)well Ross you were wrong this time, I'm a 32! I am happier than I ever imagined and I owe this to Dr. Ross Fox. I am 5'1", weigh 105 ibs. I have had the best experience with the surgical procedure and would help anyone who ever wished to have this procedure. I feel guilty sometimes because many women are envious of me and I can see it in their eyes. I have finally became comfortable talking to anyone about my operation. I was a closet patient for quite sometime!! But have discovered a new sense of self and no longer feel those emotions that I did experience as a result of my operation. It was overwhelming and a lot more than I ever dreamed...... I am very blessed. THANKS DR FOX...I love you.

Dr. Fox performed Gastric Bipass surgery on me on July 8,1997. Six of the most difficult but incredible years of my life have gone by! Having this procedure was a very difficult decision for me. It took a few years before I was able to make the decision to have this surgery. The only regret I have now is that I didn't do it sooner. I have had some difficult moments but I would definitly make the same decision. My life has been enriched more than I could ever have imagined.

Happy Holidays! I use to have a love-hate relationship with this time of year. I loved to decorate, plan & give parties, and shop for the perfect gift for all on my list. Yet, I dreaded what I knew would be another 15-25 lb. weight gain and the strugle to get maybe half of it off. A high of 360 lbs. left me in tears when I saw Christmas pictures. A prolonged illness created a 25 lb. weight loss, but that is where I stayed. Deciding I was finished dieting and depriving myself without seeing results, I resigned myself to being morbidly obese. Then a heart problem developed and I was told that without significant weight reduction, I most likely would only live five more years. I was willing to accept that as my fate. My children banded together and let me know that my attitude was unaceptable. There would be future weddings and births and I was expected to do my best to be available! Thanks to Dr. Ross Fox and staff for helping me find the right tool to create a new, healthier Kathleen. My first reward was seeing my oldest son marry a beautiful woman this summer! Dr. S has taken over in guiding me in my journey. I can not express strongly enough my belief of the importance of following the recommendations for post-surgical life. I must admit that I did not and I have had to face some challenges due to my own choices. Take advantage of their advice and recommendations!

I have struggled with my weight all of my life. Tried every diet. With back surgery then a broken ankle I have only gained weight and now have more medical problems. I have never been so depressed in my life. After getting denied by my insurance I went out on my own and researched who can help.
